This training is to improve the practitioners’ technical level on the foundation pile testing and geotechnical engineering testing and monitoring, and to conduct training assessment in the form combining theoretical explanation with on-site practice. On May 25th, nearly 300 participants from all over the country arrived in Wuhan to sign up for the training , among whom there were on-site testing personnel, management personnel of testing organizations, teachers from colleges and universities, and regulatory personnel from relevant provinces and cities. Industries from which the participants are from include road transportation, water conservancy and hydropower, industrial and civil construction, railway engineering, and higher education institutions.
All participants came to Wuhan just for the same purpose, that is, to receive raining on foundation pile non-destructive testing technology.

Since the first training course was held in 2008, Wuhan Sinorock Technology Co., Ltd has been committed to training on construction engineering testing and monitoring. Up to now, it has successfully held 20 national training sessions of foundation pile nondestructive testing, which has won good reputation in the industry. The method combining theoretical teaching, video teaching and practical operation is adopted in this training course. WeChat learning group teaching model was introduced, and all participants were divided into 9 groups by region. The group is equipped with professional teaching assistants and meeting coordinators to facilitate meeting arrangement and mutual exchange during the training.
In order to deepen the participants’ understanding of the knowledge they have just learned and enhance communication between participants, the meeting affairs group for the first time divided the participants into several groups for interactive learning. Every night, interactive learning activity was held centering on the testing methods just learned which was tested based on specific project cases. The activity took the form of group competition. The group which first gave the answer would be the winner. Each group was equipped with professional assistants to assist the teacher in organizing the activity and grade each group. Three groups eventually stood out and were awarded the title of excellent group of this training course. The teacher presented medals and prizes to them in person at the end of the activity.

The training site is also equipped with the most advanced testing equipment as well as professional technicians. During training, experts are available at the training site to answer participants’ questions so that the participants can better understand the testing technology. Meanwhile, the participants are tested in the form of theory test and hands-on skill test.

The theory teaching period is from May 26 to 29. Training courses in this period mainly include basic knowledge of piles, basic theory of stress wave in pile testing , new development of intelligent informationization of pile testing technology, low strain testing technology of piles, ultrasonic basic knowledge, ultrasonic testing technology, ultrasonic aperture testing technology, static load testing method, foundation load test, basic principle of tensile stress detection, high strain testing technology and related problems, common tesing methods in pile foundation testing and comparison of engineering examples.

After the nearly-one-week training, the participants took the theory test and hands-on skill test. The theory test includes pile integrity test and pile bearing capacity test. The hands-on skill test includes field low strain test and field ultrasonic testing.

The six-day training finally came to an end. On the evening of May 31, all the participants attended the closing banquet of this training. At the dinner, participants who stood out in the theory test or the hands-on skill test as well as the group with outstanding performance in the training were awarded. The group which got the highest mark in the interactive learning activity won the award of excellent interacting group, while the group which got the highest average score in WeChat was presented with the best scorer award. They were given trophies and prizes as encouragement.
